Shocked, aren't you?
You see, I won this gorgeous Daisy Jane organic fabric from the Blogger's Quilt Festival. And when it arrived I got to thinking about making a solely organic piece. I know I could mix in some other lines, or at least some solids. It would be a bit of a statement, and somehow it seems wrong to mix it with the conventional stuff.
Kind of like getting organic, local strawberries and making shortcake with Bisquick mix.

DO IT!
I agree!
Whoa! Definitely a nice grouping that gets the creative juices flowing.
Perfect analogy!
That is a neat group of fabric! Plain black or white are about the only things you could add to it.
Wow... those fabrics are gorgeous! I would definitely do a quilt with them, and only them.
stunning colors... yummy avocado and blues... i love it. and your quilts always show off the fabrics so well; what you do will shine.
Ooo nice fabric. Go for it!
I love those and agree with you about not mixing it... it kind of defeats the purpose a bit, doesn't it?
The fabric is gorgeous and I am sure that whatever you decide to do will be fantastic.
There are some gorgeous organic fabrics coming out, Kaufman has some light weight canvas (very light weight) in gorgeous solids.
I totally "get" your analogy but try not to be too hard on Bisquick... Some of us *sniff* love it...
modern colours, patterns, why not have a morerdn idea. Go for it.
Tough to decide what to do with it, isn't it? I find I do much better wanting to make a particular quilt pattern and pulling fabrics out for it than the other way around. I have a few lines, including a set of organic fabrics, and I jsut can't decide what to do with them.. sigh. Maybe I can get inspiration from you, especially if you blog about the entire process as part of your workshop in progress!
Cheers,
Christine
well... i really can't believe that until i see it. by the way, i love, love, love your new header. nice, very nice.
Maybe it's 'cause I'm incapable of making anything with fewer than a dozen fabrics that I have to say, that while those fabrics are nice and harmonious, no one is singing the melody. I just saw some new Lonni Rossi at my lqs, that might sing along with them.....you're going to force me into starting another project aren't you?
Love the Bisquick analogy! If you could find a few organic solids it would really set of those fabulous prints.
good for you! i think you should do it!
Go for it!
Can't wait to see what you do!
They are wonderful designs, aren't they? Jan (Daisy Janie) has some brilliant inspiration on her blog which might give you a feel for how a finished quilt might look. Sharon x
