Another One

I need another new project like I need a hole in the head. But I just couldn't resist. Of course, that's what I thought months ago when I actually started this project. This week I think I've gone insane.

Oh well, what else is new?

I finished almost two weeks of single parenting and the only good thing about it is the quiet at the end of the night. It means I can write or quilt without listening to whatever crap on TV Hubby is likely watching. And I can do it without guilt because I'm not not spending time with Hubby.

Most of the projects I have on the go are ready for basting and quilting. But that single parenting thing combined with the knee thing means no basting is getting done. Oh darn, more piecing. So pulled out this project and got myself sorted. All my squares are pressed, cut, and paired up. Another quiet evening and my half square triangles are done!

Hmm, where can I find another quiet evening?

2 weeks of single parenting?! Wow, you are wonder woman. I can barely do a night.
Hope you are well and that the projects are coming along as planned. I too have many projects...probably too many... in the works.

single parenting at my house also means quiet in the evening and very little cooking= more creative time! Enjoy!

I did that quiltalong and the resulting quilt is one of my all-time faves. http://pickledish.blogspot.com/2009/12/wine-gums.html I can't wait to see yours!

Good and bad about your hubby being gone. I do treasure the evenings when mine works late and the kids are in bed just a wee bit earlier than normal. It's my time to sew in peace too! Good luck! Jenn

I had a weekend of single parenting last weekend and I liked it because I actually got to go a bunch of places! Hubby is great but he's a couch potato on weekends. I took the kids to the Children's Museum and then Old Navy, shoe store and book store. We had a blast.

My hubby used to be gone a lot. I tried to use the time wisely....get as much uninteruppted crafting time in after kids were in bed too! Otherwise there is just not a single thing good about them being gone!
Can't wait to see what you make.

My hubby's always worked second shift, so every weeknight was (and is) single parent night. It does help in the creativity department, but there were a lot of times I wished he was home to help with all the parenting, (and carpooling!).

I love the quiet nights. That and sleeping in the middle of the bed.

You make me LAUGH...when my kids were small I used to dread then LOVE when my DH was out of town. Quiet time for ME and the kids had to answer to just ME...it was always a good break and make you realize that it's nice to have them back home.

Oh my gosh, I hear you on both accounts. I'm always starting new projects despite having a dozen underway. And guilt-free solo time in the evening is nice :)
