They Never Stop

Gee, maybe I should write a book about scrap quilts?

(This is the top of a queen size bed, for reference.)

I started looking through my bags of scraps this morning, all in search of one particular fabric for a stocking I started. After getting through 2 unsorted bags from recent work (yes, I don't always listen to my own advice) I remembered that I'd used it. Sigh.

Well, no time like the present to enlist my 4 year old in a colour game.

I would be as happy as a pig in muck with that many scraps. Love working with scraps so much

Yes indeed, I would never leave the room with scraps like that to play in and with. Lovely to boot.

When my daughter was little she did a lot of sorting for me too. I did a lot of crazy piecing at that time (1960-70s) so there were lots of small pieces. This way each pile is "new" to you when you use them because you didn't do the sorting. It's a win-win situation.

I've just realized that I need a 4-year-old for sorting...

Can I play too? What a happy bunch of scraps to dig into.

my computer crashed a few months ago, and one of the things that i lost was my saved list of favorite blogs. fast forward to yesterday, when i was at my LQS, and impulsively bought the book sunday morning quilts. LOVE. IT. and i found your blog again! i love all the quilts in the book- after traditional quilting for 25+ years, i'm so happy to be a bit more free, and not worry about the quilt police. my quilts have really changed in the last 10 years or so. can't wait until you come back! thanks SO. MUCH. for the inspiration!!
