29 Weeks

Threads, flour, horizontal stripes, and an unflattering pose. Welcome to 29 weeks pregnant in my house.

29 weeks is the most nervous part of pregnancy for me. At 29 weeks one of my bridesmaids had to leave our wedding and delivered her baby that night. Then she spent 5 weeks in the hospital herself while baby was there 2 months. It all worked out and everyone is healthy now.

At 29 weeks in my pregnancy with The Monster I went into preterm labour. A weekend in the hospital then 9 weeks of bedrest followed. House arrest, really. It all worked out and everyone is healthy now.

So when I hit 29 weeks I can't help but feel nervous and antsy. I watch my body for any sign of disagreement with the pregnancy. Of course, seeing as I rather dislike being pregnant the whole thing feels like a disagreement. In this case, every cramp seems like a major contraction, every slowdown in kicks is a concern, and I take my blood pressure too many times. Paranoid much?

This week I'm distracting myself with sewing, baking, and ignoring my messy house. Evidence of all things in this self portrait above.

29 weeks.

Big virtual hugs for the nervous mommy! I remember being worried at every little thing, too.

you take care of you!!! I am praying for you and a healthy finish to this journey!! ( I always prayed for that 32 week mark! Normally after that anything else is gravy!)

Sending you a big hug. I also rather disliked being pregnant and I know the anxiety of hitting a milestone like that. We miscarried our first pregnancy, so it was tough when I got to that point with my son (who is now 11, by the way). Hang in there. :)

Here's one more big hug! I feel for you... I was a mega worrier each time I was pregnant, too. Take it as a good sign that simply means you are a loving and caring momma!

Ive never heard or read anyone else who admitted not liking being pregnant! You make me feel not so alone! I only did it twice, tho I really like children, I just really disliked making them! Best wishes for smooth sailing the rest of the way thro...

I love this shot. Real deal. I don't like the idea of these weeks buzzing by me, but if it means you get to 30 weeks without issue, then let's go!

In the big scheme of things, 29 weeks does seem to be scary for you, but I wish you well.

I delivered my son(my first) at 29 weeks and remember the dread when I approached 29 weeks with my second. Sending good vibes!

Hi Cheryl, I just discovered that backseat gourmet is no longer around, and came over here for the first time. Nice to read your words again, and congrats on your pregnancy! I am pregnant as well, about 23 weeks. It has been pretty good so far and definitely interesting. Hope you get past 29 weeks with no surprises.

Like the belly, with the stripes and the threads.
Ms 29 weeks, do what makes you feel good and helps with the relaxing. That should get you to 30 weeks and more.
When I am nervous, afraid, etc., I force myself to do the soothing things, and the next thing I know I am finally relaxed. Hubby will tell me to go iron or sew, you will feel better.

Wishing you the best...Karencg

I love this post more then you can know. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and also have a big belly covered in threads from quilting... how much time will I have for that after the baby comes, right? I'm trying to sew as much as I can.

I'm also standing with a hand on your shoulder that you avoid any scary health issues during this week and things go smoothly and uneventfully until your 40th week. I hope too if you're having any cramping you can lay down for a bit and relax all your belly muscles so nothing goes any further. ((hugs))

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
